    Rothschild is a second-generation family company that began with our father, Effie. He is a master cutter and we’re one of the only retailers with full membership to the diamond exchange in the United States. With over 50 years in the diamond industry, our connections and worldwide industry reputation allow us to access the best diamonds at the best prices. We stock only the crème de la crème. The finest.     When you schedule an appointment with us, you meet one of our diamond-expert owners directly. Based on the information you give us, we hand-select a few diamonds specifically for you from our extensive inventory of highly-scrutinized stones. We pride ourselves in selecting some of the best diamonds in the world in terms of quality, cut and value. 

    We educate you on your investment, teaching you everything you need to know about diamonds to make the best decision possible. Once you select the diamond, we work closely with you to create a custom ring with the diamond you selected. The setting is designed and created in-house in our jeweler’s workshop in our office.

    The result of this collaboration is the ring of your dreams. One that’s completely unique to you and your loved one. It’s an experience you can’t get anywhere else. It’s why our customers travel to New Orleans from across the country.

    The cut of a diamond is everything.

    We’re after the diamond that makes you gasp at first sight. That’s why we only sell Excellent and Very Good cuts. Cut by a master cutter. We won’t offer anything less. This deep knowledge and experience with diamonds is what you get when you work with a jeweler who’s been in the industry for over 5 decades.

    A symmetrical cut is what gives a diamond its brilliance and sparkle. A quality cut and perfectly-paired setting maximizes the size of the stone, giving you the best value. Some jewelers prioritize diamond weight, offering a stone that is large (and pricey), but that doesn’t offer the sparkle that catches your eye from across the room.
     
    We take pride in educating our customers about diamonds and selecting the ideal stone based on their preferences as far as shape, size, and balancing color/clarity. The best ring for the best price. That’s what we offer to you at Rothschild.

It all began with Effie.

  • With a passion for diamonds and a grand vision of what was to come, Effie took on an apprenticeship as a diamond cutter and polisher in the capital of Israel’s burgeoning diamond industry, Netanya.

    ~Effie teaching Debbie to grade diamonds in Tel Aviv, Israel~

    Years later, he met our American mother and followed her to the United States with only a pocketful of diamonds and not speaking English. They settled in New Orleans and began business selling diamonds to local and national jewelry stores, including Saks Fifth Avenue.

    Diamonds, design, and a legacy to carry on...what more could two sisters ask for?

    Growing up in a family of diamond connoisseurs, our passion for diamonds was inevitable. Although we both embarked on separate paths leading far away from our beloved family business, we landed right back here where we were meant to be and we couldn’t be happier.  

    Initially we joined our father selling diamonds wholesale to jewelry stores and eventually discovered our shared love for creating beautiful heirlooms with our family and friends, and being a part of some of the most special times in their lives. That’s when we decided to officially open up Rothschild Diamond to private customers.
